Child of the West

"Child of the West"

Welcome Twiglets, today you will read about if I identify myself as a child of the west.

To me, the term "child of the west" can mean different things. In my case, I would define myself as a child of the west in the way of location. I was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which most people classify as a southwestern state. My family lived there for 9 years and most of my childhood was spent there which is why I would definitely classify myself as this.

Coming of Age

Coming of Age

Hola Twiglets! Today I will tell you about the time when I sprouted from a wee little twiglet into a mighty branch. Enjoy.

A few weeks ago, my mother, sister, and I traveled to Tennessee to visit my grandmother who has been having some health struggles as of lately. She is 82 years old, and still going very strong even though she has some heart and lung sicknesses that have weakened her ability to do things on her own. When we have visited in the past, she has never had to have us take care of her. Now however, there is always a person in her house that takes care of her 24/7 when she needs it, and adjusting to that was a big step that she had to take. When we arrived, my mother and her big brother needed some help with taking care of her, and it was hard for me, but it was good to know that I was contributing to her well being. Things such as getting her dressed, helping her into her wheelchair, helping her into bed, and more were all things we had to assist her with. Even though this isn't a super daunting task, it was a big responsibility and it made me grow and feel better knowing that I could help her in times of need.

My Identity Legacy

Hola twiglets! Welcome to my blog post where I will rant on about how I want my little grandchildren to remember me when I pass away. Enjoy!

  •  A role model or inspiration.
I want my grandchildren to know me as someone who pursued his dreams. No matter what they enjoy or want to accomplish in life, whether it be playing sports or starting a business, I want them to know that they have someone to look up to for reassurance or confidence. If I am able to be an inspiration or idol that lets them know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, then I will feel fulfilled.

  • A person who did good for the world.
In the corrupted world we live in, the need for good people and people who are willing to make sacrifices for the cause of making this world better than when they entered it. I want my grandchildren and other people in general to know me as someone who made a lot of good change for the good of the world and people in need.

1. Brother - I am a brother to 4 siblings, 3 sisters and one other brother. I try and be the best sibling and role model I can for my 2 younger siblings, and a fun and kind younger brother to my two older sisters.

2. Son - I strive to make my parents proud in everything I do, whether it be playing sports or school grades, I always want to the best I can be for them.

3. Student - At school, I do my absolute best to keep my grades consistent and of high percentage. Whenever my grades start slipping, I focus and work hard to bring them back to a solid A.

My Revolution

My Revolution

Hello reader, in my blog post I'm going to be talking about how I would change and what I would change about today's world.

As you probably know, there is lots of conflict in different parts of the world, and most of it is sparked by two things. Racism and religion. If you look at groups in the Middle East, such as the Islamic State, they are doing awful things to people who don't agree with their beliefs or worship their god. However, racism is another topic that sparks lots of conflict, especially in the United States. The controversial shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, is an example of the great racial conflict that takes place in America. The world needs a great revolution that awakens people to the idea that all people are equal and should be treated that way. So, I would start a movement that opens peoples eyes and helps them understand that all people are indeed equal, and no one should be given less rights or be treated less due to what they believe or how they look.
